Outriders 2 in 2026?

Recently, People Can Fly, creators of one of the greatest looter shooters of all time, announced that they are planning on going the independent route.

While most of the update talks about multiple unidentified projects over the next several years, there was a small nugget of info dropped towards the end of the post:

Did you see it? They are currently preparing for the launch of “Project Gemini” in 2026. Could this be the sequel to Outriders? Let’s dig a little further. A quick Google search of “Project Gemini” turns up this sci-fi film from 2022.

That plot sure sounds a hell of a lot like the plot to Outriders, doesn’t it? I know, I know, Outriders came out a year before this movie, but what better nom de guerre to use for your upcoming sequel than the title of a movie with a very similar plot?
